We use several senseFly unmanned aerial vehicles at our Pueblo Viejo mine to improve the quality of the data we gather, while freeing up personnel to analyse this data. With our drones we can survey areas that were previously too dangerous to send anyone, plus we can cover much larger areas with better quality data than we ever could through traditional methods, all at relatively low cost (nine eBees cost the same as one LiDAR scanner). Our drone data has enabled clearer communication of daily mining plans, at all levels, and these UAVs are now established production tools.
